Old Fashioned Pumpkin Bread

This recipe is a fun fall food to make. Your house smells divine and the bread tastes even better. The original recipe calls for nuts for the top, but I prefer to make my own streusel to go on top. So feel free to substitute what you like. I've also made it with chocolate chips inside, a very yummy substitute.

Old Fashioned Pumpkin Bread
2 Cups flour
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 can pumpkin
1/2 can evaporated milk
1 large egg
1 egg white
1 TBL vegetable oil

In a medium bowl combine flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. In a separate large bowl combine sugars, pumpkin, evaporated milk, eggs and oil. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until combined. Place in a greased 9X5 bread pan and spread smooth. You can add nuts or streusel at this point if you'd like.

Streusel Topping
1/4 cup old fashioned rolled oats
1 TBL brown sugar
1 TBL melted butter or margarine
1/8 tsp pumpkin pie spice
